Mission Health collects 323 pounds of medications during Crush the Crisis event
Mission Health hospitals collected 323 pounds of medications during its annual “Crush the Crisis” national prescription drug take back day on Saturday, October 25. This event aligns with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, to raise awareness about the danger of drug misuse and the importance of safe and proper disposal of unused or expired medications. Community members participated in the event by dropping off unused and expired medications which were collected by law enforcement officers from the various law enforcement departments in our participating communities.
These are the totals from across Mission Health:
- Learn the warning signs of stroke (BE FAST)
- Establish care with a primary care provider
- Get routine checkups and know your health numbers
- Prioritize your health before it’s too late
As an affiliate of HCA Healthcare, Mission Health was part the 140 HCA Healthcare hospital collection sites across the US that participated in “Crush the Crisis” drug take back day. This is the seventh year HCA Healthcare has hosted this event to help safely dispose of more than 88,000 pounds of unused or expired medication. This year marks another milestone in HCA Healthcare’s ongoing effort to reach 100,000 pounds of safely collected medications.
