I am inspired by infectious disease because it is a specialty of medicine where we are often able to ""cure"" infections, with exceptions of course, and because the subspecialty encompasses more than one organ system. I also have special interest in infections related to left ventricular assist devices (LVAD). I treat my patients with compassion, respect, and individualize treatment plans for each patient's needs according to their medical history and antibiotic tolerances. I believe in utilizin
