The three-star rating, which denotes the highest category of quality, places Mission Hospital among the elite for Adult Cardiac Surgery and General Thoracic Surgery in the United States and Canada.
- Mission Heart Care earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval--Cardiac Surgery Program for meeting national standards for healthcare, as well as quality and safety in the care of patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery. Mission was the first program in the state of North Carolina to receive this designation.
- The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Advanced Certification for Comprehensive Stroke Centers
